  • Ingredients List

    For the marinade:

    • 3 heaped tbsp Spicy Joes Greek Gyros & Souvlaki Blend

    • 400g Greek yoghurt

    • 30ml lemon juice

    • 100ml olive oil

    • 3 crushed garlic cloves

    For the Tzatziki:

    • ½ cucumber, deseeded

    • 200g Greek yoghurt

    • 1 crushed garlic clove

    • Handful of mint leaves

    For the Gyros:

    • 1kg your preferred meat, off the bone

    • 2 red onions, finely chopped

    • 100g plum tomatoes, halved

    • Pitta breads

  • Cooking Instructions

1). Combine all of the ingredients for the marinade in one large bowl, making sure that all are properly mixed together. After this, add your meat to the bowl and cover it in the marinade. Cover and let chill for up to 24 hours. The longer the better!

2). For the tzatziki, simply grate the cucumber into a bowl, sprinkle with salt and squeeze out the juice. You can then tip this into another bowl with the yoghurt, garlic, and mint. Mix this well, and the tzatziki will be ready to serve.

3). After marinating your meat for as long as you have chosen, take it out of the fridge and remove from the marinade. The easiest way to cook your meat is to lay it out on a wired rack, and cook in a pre-heated oven at 220°C for 15 to 25 minutes, or until cooked through.

Alternatively, cook the meat on the BBQ, turning half way through to ensure even cooking.
